First time in Portugal – impossible to forget

I know it is not a surprise for anyone anymore, but I am a great fan of visiting new places and getting to know other cultures. It was my very first time in Lisbon and region. Lisbon is a very cute city, not very big, not very luxurious, but very cute.

I really enjoyed visiting Belém, even without having tried the world-widely famous Pastelzinho de Belém (sweet delicacy). We visited the place where vessels left in 1500 before they reached and “discovered” Brazil.

Saint Jorge Castle is a very beautiful place as well.

Vasco da Gama bridge - The so-called longest bridge of Europe, or something, is really impressive AND long. (Legend has it that it is a Portuguese habit to try and build the biggest most impressive things to feature on Guiness book)

The Nation’s Park is a lovely modern part of the city, worth it to visit.

Caiscais, which is a small beach town around Lisbon, completely worth it the visit. Breathtaking views and the sea!

Sintra, which is another small town around Lisbon, has castles and palaces. We went to Quinta da Regaleira, very interesting and beautiful.

So, I checked Lisbon and region sightseeing. Do not miss the next blog entry about particularities and curiosities about Portugal and Portuguese people. It will be full of funny stories we went through there.
